Dr. Akinwumi G. Aladesawe continues to remain at the forefront of his specialties by remaining an avid reader of peer-reviewed medical publications, including the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and The Journal of Pain. He is a 1992-graduate of Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences in Nigeria. Upon his relocation to the United States, Dr. Aladesawe continued to pursue his postgraduate training, which includes a general surgery internship at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (1999-2000), as well as an anesthesiology residency (2000-2001) and physical medicine and rehabilitation residency (2003-2006) conducted at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center. Furthermore, Dr. Aladesawe went to the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL, where he completed a one-year fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine (2007-2008). Dr. Aladesawe feels that his success is primarily attributable to God and his family.
